Passion Vespers Service

Several years ago Fr. John started a new tradition in Baltimore. On the Sundays of Lent we now have the Passion Vespers. It is basically Sunday Evening Vespers with the reading of the Passion Gospel.  The first one this year was Sunday 8 March at Holy Trinity Church.

I asked Natallia to take photos and she did a great job.  When we first started, there was plenty of "available" light, but as we got into the service, it changed.  All the photos were taken without flash.  She used my Nikon D80 camera with the 50mm f/1.4 lens.  This is a single focal length lens, but has automatic focusing.  It is designed for low light situations like this one when we first started.  It is not a vibration control lens.  They are much too expensive.

On Sunday 15 March 2015 we will have our second one at Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Linthicum MD.  Then on Sunday 22 March 2015 we will have our third and final of the year at St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Baltimore MD.  Refreshments are served after the services.
