Myrrh-Streaming Icon "Kardiotissa"
The Orthodox churches in the Baltimore area made a pilgrimage to
Taylor PA to visit the Myrrh-Streaming Icon "Kardiotissa."
Churches included Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Holy Cross
Antiochian Orthodox Church, St. Andrew OCA Church, St. Demetrios
Greek Orthodox Church, and St. James Antiochian Orthodox
Church. There were also two Roman Catholics in the group.
God works through whatever He wishes. Who are we to tell him
not to do so? On 12 October 2011 another miraculous icon
visited St. George's Orthodox Greek Catholic Church in Taylor
PA. Reader Nectarios brought it and gave them a replica of
it. He touched their icon to his icon.
On Thursday 13 October 2011 it started. Some times people are
driving to the church and their car has the fragrance of the icon.
The Iverson icon came
here on 12 October 2011. Nectarios gave us a replica.
He touched our icon with his.
On Thursday 13 October 2011 it started. Some times people

Nectarios’ icon was given to him as a gift from his parish
priest. He set it up on top of a bookcase and it
slipped. He and his wife noticed a fragrance. They
found the icon as the source of the fragrance.
This icon was given to me by a priest in our deanery. We are
on the old calendar. 12 October 2015 on the eve of the Holy
Protection of the Mother of God and the icon was made by Holy
Protection Monastery. At the Divine Liturgy for the feast
was when the icon first started.
We decided to have a Moleben every Wednesday at 18:00. We
have not missed a Wednesday. Every week the church is
packed. From the beginning we tried to avoid any media
contact.
Archbishop ANTONY and two priests came to see the icon. The
Archbishop came into the church and immediately dropped to his
knees in prayer.
When the nuns came on the glass was the oil of the icon.
They dropped to the floor in prayer.
One woman had stage 4 breast cancer and was cured. We have
seen this with other cancers. There one day, one the next.
There is no more powerful prayer than that of a desperate
mother. Not all medicine is dispensed at drug stores.
The Theotokos offers her love to any and all.
God made all of us and God does not make mistakes. “Turn a
mess into a message.” Love looks forward. Hatred looks
back.
If faith is all you have, you have all you need.
It was a long day for us, but we are all very happy that we made
the trip. We charted a bus and some people drove on their
own. After visiting the icon we went up the street to a park
for lunch. Some of us did not know to bring our own lunch,
but there was plenty of food. I do not remember being in an
Orthodox church where there was not enough food. |
