What a Disgrace!

Generally this site is for positive things, but occasionally it is necessary to point out a problem. At the last IMA meeting a minister brought up the issue of trash in our streets and he was cut off by our president, who was more interesting in talking about Ferguson.

Ms. Evelyn is 92 years old and she goes out back and cleans up the trash left there by others, some of whom live in the neighborhood.  A part of the problem is that the trash is picked up only once a week.  For me, this is usually not a major problem since I also recycle.  Thus, I can actually get away with putting out my trash once every other week, but I absolutely need to do my recycling on a weekly basis, although I can miss a week here and there.

Another part of the problem is the lack of education, especially in the black community.  Earlier today I heard a man saying that you won't find this amount of trash in the white communities.  This might or might not be true.  I think that it has nothing to do with race and/or color.  It is a spiritual and an educational problem.

Ferguson has been blown out of proportion.  Too often when a police officer does his job and somebody ends up on the ground dead, the police is condemned.
