East Baltimore Scenery
Progress is coming to East Baltimore. Johns Hopkins is one of the
largest employers in the City and also a top leading medical center
in the world. East Baltimore can only benefit if Johns Hopkins
grows.
The first two pictures tell a major problem in some sections of
Baltimore. You can easily see the trashcan. That white
by the step is a dirty diaper. This is a major problem in the
City and when somebody tried to raise this issue at a recent IMA
meeting, he was cut off in favor of a discussion about Ferguson.
Three blocks away you see some progress. The houses in the
2400 block of East Eager were demolished and a park will be built
there. I do not have any details.
As I was walking along the site of the future park, I saw that the
houses on Montfort Avenue are also being demolished the same way
that those on East Eager Street were demolished. I
have no idea what is going to go in their place.
