Police Chaplain Academy

Baltimore City is trying to fight the darkness which prevails over the City. One of the tools is the community chaplaincy program. We are community chaplains, not police chaplains. We work for the community through the Police Department.

I finished the Academy in 2015, but today's class was on Narcan.  I now had the training twice.  It was offered later at a meeting which I attended.  But I have not had a need to use my training, thank God.

Commissioner George Teggle attended this session.  He was not yet the commissioner and I don't think that anybody knew that he would be.  This gave me an opportunity to meet him in person and I bumped into him again at ArtScape and was able to speak very highly of Officer Beebe.  Now I need to add Officer Talbert to the list.

In the class we learned CPR and very important information about Narcan.  It is expensive, about $75, but if you have the proper paperwork you can get it for nothing or almost nothing.

We also learned about the "Good Samaritan Law which went into effect 1 October 2015.
