Holy Unction

In this country we have developed the practice of doing Holy Unction on the Wednesday of Holy Week. I do not know if this is the case in other countries.

When I was growing up and in the West, we received this sacrament or mystery only on our death bed.  Today most of us receive it annually plus when we are serious sick.    We used to do it on the feast of St. Spyridon in Baltimore, but since the repose of Fr. Constantine Monios, of blessed memory, we no longer do it.
