Washington Orthodox Clergy Association
Getting to this meeting was easier than I thought, but the Google
map direction made it seem difficult.I took MARC train into
Washington DC and then the subway. Following Google map to go
from the subway to the bus can be an adventure, especially if your
bus is due. The distance is only a block, but the instructions
do not seem to indicate that.
I took the local bus to the church. The bus stop was just a
few feet pass the entrance to the church, but the driver had no idea
despite the big sign saying "Romanian Festival."
The community meets in temporary quarters, but they did a great job
of making it look like a church. I knew that I was in a church
the moment I stepped in the door.
We had a history lesson and update on the situation in
Lebanon. We also talked about the state of Orthodox on two of
the local Catholic universities, namely Catholic and
Georgetown.
Of course the food was great. It was worth the trip just for
the food. |
