Ride-along

One of my duties as a chaplain is to do a ride-along.

There was a recent shooting at the Popeye's just blocks from the church.  As a result, we are focusing our attention in the area.   We had two traffic stops that day.  As we were doing one, another motorist asked us for the location of Johns Hopkins loading dock, which was almost next to us.

On Friday there were shots fired, but nobody was hit.  Three people said that it was not like this in the past.

One officer commented, "I don't come to work to lock people up.  It doesn't benefit me nor the citizens."  This seems to be the consensus of most officers.  An officer also said, "If I can have a good encounter with someone and make their day better..."

After looking at a written report, an officer asked, "Did you throw some corn on this paper and have a chicken walk over it?"
