Rosario's

On Saturday 13 July 2019 we had a birthday celebration for those in our group who have birthdays in the month of July.

I first met some of the people in this group when we had the St. Maximos group back in the 1990s.  We initially met at the home of Gerard Bugge and when he fell asleep in the Lord, we met at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church.

The group as dissolved, but some of us still get together, especially to celebrate each other's birthdays.  Generally the current group consists of conservative Catholics.  We frequently have theological discussions and some are really good.

When the St. Maximos group dissolved, I lost contact with those in the group.  Then one day I ran into Bob and Mary at Howard's and we have been connected ever since.  Later I learned that Reader Joseph Lochte of blessed memory and Mary were friends.  What a small world.

This group has been very supportive of me and my vocation.  They helped me when I was given the right to wear the double orarion and they also helped me when I made the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.  They also support my outreach to the homeless and unfortunate people in our communities.

Besides the presents which I received for myself, I also received a bag of items for our homeless outreach.  From time to time there is a drive by the Baltimore Police Department for items to help homeless people.  In addition, on Christmas Day I usually ride-along with the officers in the Eastern District and distribute items to homeless people.

I started this when Dr. Pat and Russ stopped hosting their Christmas dinner and went to South Carolina to be with their daughter.  Since I had nothing else to do, I did a ride-along that afternoon and Officer Jones distributed hats and gloves to homeless people.  He brought them out of his own pocket.  Now I collect for the homeless and distribute on Christmas Day.
