Power Outage

On Monday 22 July 2019 the power in my block went out around 18:07. We heard a bang. Coco thought that it was right behind his house and he was not far from correct.

This was the second major power failure in our area in two to five years.  I went outside with my camera and talked with my neighbors and we noticed the sofa in the back in the alley.  It was not there last week.  We do not know how it got there.

I took photos of issues and submitted six 3-1-1 Requests for Services to the City of Baltimore.  I use the website where I can also upload photos.  The requests were submitted Monday evening after 19:00 and on Tuesday morning around 8:00 Inspector Parker called me.  She was right on it.

By Thursday morning the sofa was gone.  There was also a pick-up truck in front of Mr. Coco's home on Rose Street.  I had requested it to be towed on 31 May 2019 and for some reason it fell trough the system.  I held off on a second request because Crystal was interested in it, and when she said that she is no longer interested, I submitted another request with the photos from the first request.

Everybody knows that there are issues in Baltimore, but not everybody knows how to deal with them.  Shannon Sneed is a good city council person and she really tries and I have seen results.  Mr. Clayton of the Rose Street Community Center is another great asset.  With people like these two, there will be progress here in East Baltimore.

A pickup truck was abandoned and it was also a part of my 3-1-1 requests.
