East Baltimore

In the news one hears about all the problems that we have in Baltimore, but we rarely hear about the good things. I travel by MTA and in order to get home, I walk up this block. The next block is not as nice and then I go through another block that is also fairly nice, but not as nice as this one.

Johns Hopkins is going a tremendous amount of work to make this a world class area.  Since I moved here about five years ago, I have seen three blocks completely demolished and in one of those blocks a beautiful park has been created.  I have also seen an even more beautiful park about eight blocks west of me.  A new hotel has been built and restaurants are coming.  Save-a-Lot replaced the "Soviet style" grocery store that we had two blocks from my house.

MTA has installed a bus shelter outside the store and the City of Baltimore placed a bench a block from my home.
