Baltimore's Inner HarborCurrently I have two part-time jobs outside the Church. One is with the Y of Central Maryland and the other is with the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association. Both organizations are non-profit. They both bring benefits to the City of Baltimore. Working for both is extremely rewarding. As I left the Inner Harbor on this day, a Friday, there was a group of girls who were singing gospel music. When I was working in the warehouse at Comcast, one of my co-workers had some gospel music playing and he asked me what do I think and I said that it's okay. He said emphatically, "This is gospel." I replied, "It's OK." He could not understand my lack of interest. But then, he also has never been in an Orthodox church. We do not have "gospel music" in the Orthodox Church. This group is just one of many groups which perform at the Inner Harbor. Not only are there various groups and individuals performing, but there are other things to see as well. We frequently have new ships come and go and often one can tour them free of charge. They are not always military ships. If you are in Baltimore, come by and see me. You can ask for me by name. |
