Bright Saturday at the Russian Consulate
After the divine services we walked a few blocks to the Russian Consulate for a really beautiful reception. Some of us were marveling at how exquisite the place is.
Fr. John and I took the route next to Grand Central Park. We could had gone the other way just as easily. But we went that way last year.
As you can tell, the food was fantastic and there was plenty of it. Nobody left hungry. This was also a wonderful opportunity for me to meet new people and see people whom I knew from the past.
There were two surprises. The first was Bishop Antoun. I had a chance to greet him in Arabic and I wish that you could had seen his face light up when he heard it!
The second surprise was Archbishop Demetrios. I have not seen him since the date that he elevated Fr. Dean at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Baltimore to the rank of Archimandrite. |
