End of Year Celebration, 2009

The academic year is completed and we celebrated. We had a party to celebrate and I will miss the kids during the summer.

There was plenty of food and it was good. One of the staff made a rice and chili dish and I really enjoyed it. I even liked the white rice. I do not like Chinese-style white rice, but I do like American style.

I watched several of the kids play chess and coached them. I also noticed some kids who have promise and I hope that they will be on the team next year.

I think that if I can get around the disciplinary problems, we will have a good team next year. Unfortunately, there are a few kids who ruin it for the rest. Most of the kids were really good kids. I was especially proud of them when we played in our last tournament. They behaved very well and they did not do too poorly in the tournament, but next year we must do better.
